Book 11 - The Five Love Languages, Gary Chapman

The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your MateThe Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate by Gary Chapman

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I believe the concepts in this book: that we give and receive love in different ways that mean different things to each of us. I didn't really care for how drawn out it was.

Gut wrenching story of the author's time in concentration camps. I am left wondering how humans can be so cruel to others.

Book 8 - Crazy for God, by Frank Schaeffer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Prior to reading this book I had never heard of the Schaeffers. I enjoyed reading about the life of the author, and felt like I was getting an inside peak at some of the leaders in the "religious right." I know many feel the author was unfair to his family, but I came away from the book with the feeling that the author cared about his family and had many kind, loving things to say about them along with his criticisms, much the way many people feel about their upbringing. It was a really good read and I plan to read more by this author.

Inspirational story about one family's efforts to help those in need during WWII. I only hope I would have as much courage in the face of such danger. I admire the faith of the author and her family.

This was really a good read. I kept thinking about the story when I was doing other things and ended up finishing the book the same day I started it...staying up late to do so. It's a good story, easy to read, and engaging.
